Our Mustang Mach-E 1 combines the sports car experience with the space and convenience of a conventional SUV, and is packed with innovations like our game-changing BlueCruise 2 “hands-off, eyes-on” advanced driver assistance system. 3
Even so, we’re always looking for ways to make the Mustang Mach-E even better. The latest improvements include improved range, new driver assistance technologies and a retro-inspired new model.
Q: What is the Mustang Mach-E GT California Special?
A: The Mustang Mach-E GT California Special 4 is a new design-focused edition that honours the spirit of the American West Coast. It takes inspiration from the original 1968 California Special, which was created to recognise the California Ford dealers responsible for a significant portion of Mustang sales in the 1960s. This new model brings that legendary soul to the electric Mustang Mach-E with a unique visual identity.

Q: How does the exterior design stand out?
A: The GT California Special features 20-inch Carbonised Grey alloy wheels, accented with a GT/CS logo outlined in Rave Blue, a new signature colour for this edition. The most striking feature is the unique bonnet stripe, which includes the California Special wordmark and radiating sunset lines inspired by the California coastline.
Q: What is unique about the interior?
A: Inside, the seats are upholstered in Navy Pier ActiveX and Miko material. This includes a reflective blue and silver stripe for added contrast. The steering wheel and centre console are also wrapped in Navy Pier ActiveX, a high-end synthetic material designed to be more durable and stain-resistant than leather.

Q: Have there been improvements to the driving range?
A: For Premium Extended Range models, Ford has introduced new lower rolling resistance tyres. These updates extend the driving range for AWD versions to 555 km 5 and RWD versions to 615 km. This represents increases of 5 km and 15 km respectively.
Q: What is Clear Exit Assist?
A: Clear Exit Assist 3 is a clever technology designed to help prevent “dooring accidents.” The system can use sensors to detect cyclists, scooters, and pedestrians approaching the vehicle from behind. If a passenger or driver attempts to open a door into the path of someone passing by, the system provides a warning. This technology is now standard as part of the Advanced Driver Assistance System pack.
Q: What new colours are available for the lineup?

A: Mustang Mach-E customers can now choose from two new metallic colours. Race Red offers a dynamic and sporty look, while Adriatic Blue-Green provides a unique metallic finish with deep, sophisticated hues.

Q: Where is BlueCruise technology headed next?
A: The Mustang Mach-E was the first model to offer BlueCruise, Ford’s “hands-off, eyes-on” technology for designated Blue Zones. Starting in summer 2026, BlueCruise will be available on other vehicles in the Ford family.
Q: When is the updated Mustang Mach-E on sale?
A: The new Mustang Mach-E range, including the GT California Special, is on sale now.
