Ford Philanthropy, the global charitable arm of Ford Motor Company, is proud to celebrate its 75th anniversary this September with Global Caring Month, the company’s annual month-long community service initiative. Ford Philanthropy was founded in 1949 with a commitment to alleviate want and human suffering and contribute to the betterment of mankind. This year’s milestone anniversary underscores Ford’s ongoing mission to partner with communities around the world to move people forward and upward.
"As part of this year's Global Caring Month, more than 5,000 Ford employees will be actively participating in 189 volunteer projects across 30 countries, designed in collaboration with their chosen nonprofit organizations," said Mary Culler, President, Ford Philanthropy. "We can’t thank our employees enough for their dedication and are excited to celebrate Ford Philanthropy's 75th anniversary and our long legacy of giving back."
Each September, Global Caring Month mobilizes thousands of Ford employees across the globe to engage in volunteer projects that address the pressing needs of the communities where they live and work. Projects include building homes, renovating schools, cleaning up parks, installing clean water systems, distributing fresh food and more.
Ford Philanthropy provides grants up to USD $10,000 to selected nonprofit organizations for tools and supplies to complete each project. Since Global Caring Month began in 2006, Ford has engaged nearly 100,000 Ford employees who have used their skills, creativity, and energy on more than 2,000 community impact projects in 45+ countries.
This year, Ford employees are supporting a range of impactful projects in the U.S. and around the world, including:
